Cloud servers
Private cloud, for teams that are not moving to public cloud
Colo Solutions runs private cloud and virtual data center environments in its Orlando facility for companies that want to stop buying and refreshing server hardware, but are not willing to put the workload in a hyperscaler. You get dedicated, isolated infrastructure in a facility you can walk into — with the same N+1 power, cooling and carrier density as our colocation floor.
What you get
| Isolation | A private network, isolated from other tenants. |
|---|---|
| Storage | Block storage volumes attachable to a running instance. |
| Scaling | Resources added on demand rather than by hardware purchase. |
| Monitoring | Real-time visibility of system performance from any device. |
| Hybrid | Virtual infrastructure that supplements hardware you already own, rather than replacing it. |
| Location | Runs in the Orlando facility — the same N+1 power, cooling and carrier density as colocation. |
Backup and recovery
| Hardware snapshots | Immediate restoration after a large data-loss event such as ransomware or a crypto-locker. |
|---|---|
| File-level restore | Recovery of individually deleted files without a full restore. |
| Off-site replication | Optional replication of backups and live data to a facility in the mid-Atlantic. |
Service levels
Critical infrastructure — power and HVAC — is committed at 99.99% of the time in a given month, excluding scheduled maintenance and upgrades, under Exhibit C of the Master Services Agreement, which carries the governing definitions and remedies. We publish the contractual commitment and never an achieved-uptime figure, because we do not currently have measurement that would substantiate one.
Where this is the wrong fit
If you need to scale to thousands of instances in minutes, or you want managed platform services — hosted databases, queues, serverless functions — a hyperscaler does that and we do not. This is dedicated infrastructure with a person who answers the phone, in one facility, in Orlando. That is the trade, and for some workloads it is the wrong one.
Talk it through
Sizing a private cloud sensibly needs a conversation about the actual workload, not a pricing table. Call and we will scope it.
